Located inside ASO Hostel Tozanguchi, TSUMUGU is only about a three-minute drive from Michi no Eki Aso (Roadside Station Aso). Its convenient location makes it an easy addition to a self-drive trip around Mt. Aso.

TSUMUGU’s drinks and desserts are made with strawberries grown at the family-run ASO Nishida Farm.
The shop was created around a simple idea: to value what Aso’s land provides, carry it into the future, and share it with visitors.

Shaved Frozen Strawberries — Our Top Pick 🍓
This is TSUMUGU’s signature summer treat. Whole frozen strawberries are finely shaved to create a light, icy texture while preserving the taste and texture of the real fruit.
Finished with strawberry sauce, every spoonful is packed with the sweet and tart flavour of Aso-grown strawberries. If you are trying only one item, this is our recommendation.
Strawberry Soy Milk Smoothie 🥤
A smooth blend of sweet-tart strawberries and mild soy milk. It is creamy without feeling too heavy, making it a refreshing choice on a warm day.
Tapioca pearls can also be added for extra texture.
Strawberry Soda 🫧
For something lighter, try the strawberry soda. The fresh acidity of the strawberries pairs well with crisp sparkling soda, creating a cool and refreshing drink for Kumamoto’s hot summer weather.

A simple self-drive route could look like this:
Michi no Eki Aso → TSUMUGU → Kusasenri → Nakadake Crater area
Starting from Michi no Eki Aso, drive approximately three minutes towards Kusasenri to reach TSUMUGU. After enjoying a strawberry drink or dessert, continue along the mountain road towards Kusasenri and the crater area.
There is an outdoor seating area in front of the shop, where you can take a short break and enjoy the fresh Aso air before continuing your journey.
