Hi my name is Wendy an intern from Taiwan. Today I’m going to talk about Myogyoji Temple and Aso-Viva (Aso Uchinomaki Family Park).
At first, I thought it would just be a normal temple and park, but both places turned out to be much more memorable than I expected!
🛕 Myogyoji Temple
As soon as I walked into Myogyoji Temple, I was amazed by its beautiful architecture.
The golden Buddhist altar was absolutely stunning, and every carving was incredibly detailed. It perfectly showcased the beauty of traditional Japanese temple design.
The atmosphere inside was peaceful and quiet. It naturally made me slow down and appreciate Japanese history, culture, and religion.
I especially loved the traditional feeling of the temple. It was very different from the temples in Taiwan, and it gave me a chance to experience another side of Japanese culture.
Besides the magnificent altar, there was also a beautiful incense burner.
It was decorated with dragons and lion carvings, and every detail was beautifully crafted. It made me appreciate the incredible craftsmanship and history behind Japanese temples.
Every corner of the temple was elegant and perfect for taking photos.
🌳 Aso-Viva (Aso Uchinomaki Family Park)
In the afternoon, we visited Aso-Viva, and it quickly became one of my favorite places in Aso!
This park is truly a paradise for children, but honestly, adults can have just as much fun.
The moment we saw the huge playground, we couldn’t wait to start exploring.
There were so many different playground facilities.
There were giant slides, seesaws, swings, climbing structures, and many other fun play equipment that I had never seen before.
The playground was huge, and there were so many things to do that we could easily spend hours there without getting bored.
One of the funniest moments happened when we found a small round hut in the park.
It immediately reminded us of the first little pig’s straw house from The Three Little Pigs! 🐷😂
It looked so cute that we couldn’t stop laughing. We even squatted down in front of it to take a photo because it felt like we had stepped into a fairy tale.
It was such a simple moment, but it became one of my favorite memories of the day.
What surprised me the most was how amazing Japanese parks can be.
The playground was clean, safe, spacious, and full of exciting equipment. It wasn’t just for children—even adults could enjoy themselves and have fun.
If you’re traveling to Aso with family or friends, I definitely think this park is a must-visit!

If you ever visit Aso, I highly recommend adding these two places to your itinerary.
Myogyoji Temple is the perfect place to experience Japanese history, culture, and traditional architecture.
Aso-Viva is the perfect place to relax, have fun, and feel like a kid again.
I had an amazing time playing on the giant slides, seesaws, swings, and all the other playground equipment.
It was honestly so much fun that I would definitely come back again!
