Hello,everyone. I’m KAZU !!!!
Today’s topic is about’ japanese view of nature`.
Japanese people have long lived closely with nature. In the past, they believed that deities and spirits dwelled in all parts of nature. People felt both blessed by nature and feared its powers, believing it was beyond the control of human beings. They consider themselves as just a small part on the vast spectrum of nature.
Japan has four distinct seasons. It was also for many years an agricultural society, where people needed to know the best seasons to cultivate, plant, and harvest fruits, vegetables, and grains. Within this need, people became sensitive to seasonal changes, and they heightened their awareness of even the most minute details of nature.
The basic Japanese aesthetic sense can be defined as the beauty of things ‘imperfect, impermanent and incomplete.` This idea stems from the traditional ways of viewing and fearing nature, and also from Shintoism.
You can appreciate the beautiful seasons and nature of Aso by eating seasonal foods and by attending festivals that take place here in Aso.
