No Plan? Start at Moyai Tourist Hub in Aso

Traveling to Aso doesn’t always start with a plan and that’s exactly where the adventure begins.

On January 8, 2026, a brand-new tourist support center called Moyai Tourist Hub opened its doors just outside JR Aso Station. Created to help visitors enjoy Aso in a relaxed, flexible, and local way, their motto is “No plan? Let’s enjoy Aso!”

Conveniently located only steps from JR Aso Station, makes it the perfect first stop after arriving by train. For those traveling by car, they also offer free parking for two vehicles directly in front of the center.

Whether you’re visiting Aso for the first time or returning to explore deeper, Moyai Tourist Hub is designed to be a friendly place where questions are welcomed and curiosity is encouraged.

They provide:

  • Up-to-date local tourism information.
  • Introductions to freelance local guides who know Aso beyond the guidebooks.
  • Guided tours around Aso using local buses, available for a very small fee.
  • Bicycle rental, ideal for exploring the town at your own pace.
  • Luggage storage, so you can start sightseeing right away.
  • A selection of local souvenirs, perfect as gifts or memories of your trip.

Everything is designed to help you spend less time worrying about logistics and more time enjoying Aso.

Business hours: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Open: 6 days a week

Closed: Every Wednesday
