Aso Shrine is one of Japan’s oldest and most important Shinto shrines, located in the Aso region of Kumamoto Prefecture.
It has been a sacred place of worship for over 2,000 years and is dedicated to the deity Takeiwatatsu-no-Mikoto, who is believed to protect the land and people of Aso.
Known for its impressive shrine gate and traditional architecture, Aso Shrine plays a central role in local culture and festivals and remains a key spiritual landmark of the area.
